The 2011 Grabm Classic

On August 7th the Greater Rockford Area Bushmasters will be hosting the Grabm Classic, Sponsored by Whiskey’s Roadhouse. This is a C-tier PDGA sanctioned event with $500+ cash added. $250 added to all Pro-divisions and $250 added to all Amatuer divisions.

The Rockford open is in the books!

We hope you all had a great time at the 2011 Rockford Open. A big thanks to all the sponsors! The Olympic Tavern, We cannot thank you enough, This event could not have been possible with them. Chains Disc Golf for throwing in a ton of awesome discs and t-shirts. Thanks Rich! Aces and Chains for the added merch! This morning we we received our GATEWAY putter order. So we know what that means. Plenty of Magics, Wizards, Warlocks, and Voodoo’s in all the plastics. There are some sweet colors. Some black wizards…. better get em fast since there first come first serve!!!!

Next week Innova comes in…. BIG ORDER TONS OF STUFF

2 Great Outings in Marengo… so far…

This Saturday, we had a great showing of volunteers to help install baskets. (12 guys) We had those baskets installed in about 4 hours, and we were ready to have some fun. We decided to play the course as one big group the first time around, and we couldn’t have had a better Saturday. At the end of the day Fred Vroman set the bar for the individual course record of -5 (par 56)

Then, today we decided to have an impromptu doubles gathering, since the normal Monday night doubles in Crystal Lake was not going on due to the holiday. We had 12 players show up for doubles, and in the end it was our own Rich R. and Brad Seegert that got the victory with a great round of -10. The next best score was a -4

I’ve sent the directional signs to the printer and should have them back in a couple of days. I’ll do my best to get those installed ASAP, which will help the people showing up to play (even though we’re not officially open yet

I think tee locations are settling into their final spot after a few more rounds of playing, so I should be able to get the rest of the signage installed next week sometime.

I might possibly be able to get the open (park) holes signs in place before this weekend. We’ll see.
